Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2

This new Inspiron is one of the best looking notebook I have ever lay eyes on. It feature a cool black and chrome paint scheme for a really industrial and futuristic look. To add some bling bling, Dell lit up the XPS with adjustable color neon lights. Believe me, this notebook will not go unnoticed a LAN party - or a media room for that matter. I took the XPS Gen 2 with me to E3 and the reporters at the media room went nuts. Screams of "Holy ****! What is that?" and "That's a Dell???" were the most common questions.

The Inspiron XPS Gen 2 is a big notebook that will never be mistaken for a ultra-portable. The Gen 2 offers a full 16:10 ratio 17 inch wide screen display with a sky high 1920x1200 resolution. The unit weigh 9.5 pounds, which is heavy but is really lighter than most of the other big 17" gaming laptops.

Unlike other gaming laptop, which use desktop Pentium 4 processors, the Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2 uses a Centrino processor running at 2.0GHz. The advantage of the Centrino is longer battery life and lower cooling requirement - hence the relatively slim profile of the XPS when compared laptops powered by desktop CPUs.
